Role of Parque Expo

Compilation of a Strategic Framework Study in conjunction with CISED Território, impacting on the former land occupied by the Siderurgia Nacional and Quimiparque industrial plants in order to support the achievement of the objectives to convert the existing area for different economic purposes.

When compiling the Strategic Framework Study, a synthesis of the features of the areas occupied by the former plants will be produced, defining the major development principles and key concepts for the intervention (concept), identifying priority intervention areas and respective occupational scenarios and actions to be implemented, evaluating budgetary requirements, and defining the funding and operational implementation models for both intervention areas.

The issues of mobility and environmental liability will be separately addressed, given their specifics and their importance for the envisaged intervention.

Objectives

To create conditions enabling development of the process to convert the land formerly occupied by the Siderurgia Nacional and Quimiparque plants, which will leverage the rehabilitation of the adjacent urban areas and the entire southern river waterfront arc, namely through coordinating multiple public and private participants and improving the area’s conditions for property development and thereby attract new business activity to the area.

Executive Summary
