Objectives
The objectives of the Strategic Plan are to define an integrated vision for the city and its area of influence and to establish the framework for its linkages to complementary areas in the region, as well as evaluating recent trends in metropolitan issues.
The Urban Development Plan for the City of Coimbra will be based on the aforementioned assessment in conformance with the provisions of Decree-Law 380/99, which regulates on its master city planning guidelines.
Executive Summary
Taking into consideration the regional role of the city of Coimbra and the impact of such prominence for its urban planning model, Coimbra’s City Council tendered for the production of an Urban Development Plan for the City of Coimbra, to be supported by a strategic framework document covering potential urban development scenarios.
