Objectives
The Strategic Framework Study is being developed in close cooperation with Leiria’s City Council, and has the following specific objectives:
- Framing the territory within the context of various territorial scales; making a diagnosis of the existing position;
- devising an intervention strategy;
- defining an action plan, including an operational model formalising the means to implement the proposed actions.
Executive Summary
The objective of the Strategic Framework Study for the Critical Urban Renewal and Rezoning Area of Leiria is to serve as a model for integrated intervention within the city’s Historical Centre area, based on its current framing within a national context. To that end, the intention is to promote the functional complementarity between that area and other areas of the city and thereby strengthen its attractiveness, on the one hand, while consolidating the role of Leiria within a regional context, on the other.
