Role of Parque Expo
Compilation of all the envisaged components of the PDAU Project in cooperation with CDERU, QUATERNAIRE, architect Gonçalo Byrne, TIS, CONSULGAL, LNEC, and PROCONSULTORES, in addition to a number of strategy consultants , namely Prof. Nuno Portas, Prof. Augusto Mateus, Prof. Ali Adjiedj, and Guy Burgel.
Objectives
With Parque EXPO’s assistance, the Wilaya of Algiers and the Algerian Government aim to transform Algiers into a competitive capital city, thereby enabling its integration into the network of international cities and making it a city of reference within the context of the Mediterranean basin.
This entails the use of an instrument which is eminently strategic and regulatory in nature, putting in to use in fostering the development of the Wilaya,
Executive Summary
Compilation of a land management master plan, comprising regulatory framework, urban development zoning, and a metropolitan management contract.
As an urban management instrument for the territory, the PDAU envisages the compilation of a Master Plan during Phase 1, defining the master guidelines for developing the entire Wilaya of Algiers area.
Phase 2 envisages the production of a consensual final project plan, and signature of a metropolitan management contract, which objective is to review and frame all projects to be implemented by the Government impacting on the territory, and their respective funding and phasing.
Within the scope of the metropolitan management contract, particular emphasis will be given to structuring a set of actions to be titled Priority Projects, which projects are required for adequate implementation of the territory’s land management strategy.
