Within the scope of the idea for the Science and Technology Park of Maluana, which Parque EXPO is developing with the Mozambican government, a delegation from the company was recently in Mozambique where the Master Plan was publically presented to central and local government bodies.

During this presentation, the Mozambican authorities showed their satisfaction with Parque EXPO´s services, announcing the intention for two more technological parks in Nampula and Zambezia, and expressing interest in the involvement of Parque EXPO in these projects.

The project for the Maluana Science and Technology Park covers an area of approximately 950 hectares, and is part of a long term programme for skills training in Information Technology and Communication in Mozambique. This is with a view to the development of infrastructure and equipment for the promotion of activities based on knowledge in the field. The project constitutes a unique opportunity for the creation of a new central urban park in the Maputo Metropolitan Area, with around 10,000 new residents, contributing to development and qualification in the region and improving the living conditions of the population, expecting 17,000 new jobs to be created.

Located in the northern part of the Maputo province, 55 km from the Mozambican capital, the Maluana region benefits from a privileged location, being next to the coastline and near to important infrastructures. As such, this will facilitate the future expansion of the Science and Technology Park as projected by Parque EXPO. The construction should be followed by an important series of investments in infrastructure, in particular for the construction of a new airport, the improvement of road access to Maputo and South Africa, and the restructure of railway lines.

With this project, Parque EXPO is reinforcing its international presence, consolidating the international recognition of its know-how in environmental and urban requalification operations.
