CLIENTS AND ALLIANCES

Owing to its mission and the type of territory which Parque EXPO deems of particular interest (namely based on the type of proprietor involved and/or entity under which jurisdiction they fall), and to the nature of Parque EXPO’s intervention strategies, the Company’s main clients typically fall within one of the following categories:

  • Governments and their Ministries | in their capacity as policy makers and promoters of development in the form of development programs or land management interventions and actions, or in their capacity as proprietors of public patrimony requiring renovation and enhancement, which Parque EXPO may be called to assist in designing and programming  such Government programs and/or interventions, together with implementation thereof;
  • Town Councils / municipal companies and joint municipal companies | which, in addition to the fact that they’re often the proprietors and/or the ruling authorities in question, most often act in a capacity as main interested parties concerning the rehabilitation and revitalising of urban centres and obsolete or derelict urban neighbourhoods, or instances of environmental upgrading of waterfronts and development planning for new urban areas, for which purpose such clients commission the services of Parque EXPO, either directly or via Special Purpose Vehicle companies (respectively, via Urban Rehabilitation Companies or via companies created by Town Councils for a particular purpose) in which such clients acquire equity holdings;
  • 100%-publicly held companies or companies where the state holds a majority interest | in their capacity as proprietors and/or regulatory authorities over territories requiring intervention for purposes of renovation or enhancement and upgrading, such as, for instance, harbour authorities;
  • Private sector companies | in their capacity as property owners of large tracts of land which are important for a country’s land management policy, involving renewal and upgrading interventions entailing a large degree of complexity, namely owing to a very large number of economic agents being involved and to the need to reconcile public and private interests;

Foreign public or private entities | in their capacity as proprietors or regulatory authorities over degraded territories (so-called brownfields) or territories with development potential falling within the scope of Parque Expo’s international strategy, subject to preliminary evaluation on a case-by-case basis and with the assistance of the ICEP Agency (Portugal’s Foreign Trade Agency) and the country’s diplomatic agencies.
